We either don't have the opportunity and don't take the time. It is good to have these school children express their "Thank You" to Bishop Cistone. I hope he realizes that their voices and words are likewise our voices and words of thanksgiving to the Lord for his ministry to us.Gary Shafferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17597235602856209831noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9058447940425309585.post-18464065727529565902010-07-23T23:21:43.191-04:002010-07-23T23:21:43.191-04:00Thank you, Bishop Cistone, for standing up for the...Thank you, Bishop Cistone, for standing up for the sanctity of life.L. It is the entrenched practice in virtually all parishes I am familiar with to ignore the titles for the 4 Christmas Masses; e.g., a 6pm Mass on Christmas Eve might use the readings and prayers from the Mass at Dawn, for example. This is an endless frustration of mine; if nothing else, I'd like to know what to expect when I go to Christmas Mass.

Every time I bring this up, nobody else seems to think it matters. Maybe it doesn't. But if it does matter, I think the only way to fix the problem is more emphasis/enforcement from the Diocese. I think that the faithful do not get exposed to the messages contained in the Vigil Mass or Mass during the Day nearly as often as the Midnight and Dawn readings, and they also lose the benefit of the way the readings are so gracefully connected to their specified time of day; the selection from John, for example, is perfect for the atmosphere and attitude of a later morning or afternoon Mass on Christmas Day.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06663590275919913648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9058447940425309585.post-18784353359735005172009-12-15T21:22:27.042-05:002009-12-15T21:22:27.042-05:00Su Excelencia Reverendísima:

I prepare myself to preach out one homily 5 times each weekend, but I still need to listen to another one for my own growth. After being ordained for 15 years already, you still are a formator for me. Gracias, Monseñor Cistone. Padre Felo de Puerto Rico.
